Shenandoah Rose Society is a member of the Colonial District of the American Rose Society.  The Colonial District holds two district meetings per year, a Pre-Spring meeting in March and a Fall Meeting & Show in September or October.

Pre-Spring Meeting

 

The Colonial Distritc Fall Meeting and Show will be hosted by Richmond Rose Society in Richmond, VA. September 25-27, 2009. 

A Kaleidoscope of Roses

 

 

            The Richmond Rose Society invites you to attend the Colonial District Fall Meeting and Rose Show on September 25-27, 2009, in Richmond, Virginia.  A detailed invitation is included in the July issue of the Colonial Courier.  Below are some highlights planned for the weekend:

 

Friday, September 25

3:00     Registration at Hotel (Holiday Inn I-64 Crossroads, 2000 Staples Mill Rd., Richmond, VA 23230, (Phone: 877-506-6061).

6:00     Social hour with cash bar and heavy hors d’ oeuvres

Our speaker, Dr. Susan Clingenpeel:  “Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow in our Colonial District”

 

Saturday, September 26

6:00 a.m.         Preparation area for exhibitors opens at Lewis Ginter, 1800 Lakeside Avenue,  Richmond, Virginia 23228 (www.lewisginter.org)

9:30                 Deadline for entries to show

10:00               Judging begins

11:00               Speaker, Annette Critelli:  “Drying and Enjoying Your Roses Year Round”

   1 – 4:00        Show open to public

  2:00               Guided tour of Lewis Ginter Garden

  3:30               Awards presentation

  6:00               Social hour with cash bar at the hotel

  7:00               Banquet

                        Speaker, Frank Robinson, Executive Director of Lewis Ginter

 

Sunday, September 27

Breakfast on your own.  (Hotel has a hot buffet for $9.95)

  8:30               Colonial District meeting at hotel

10:00               Consulting Rosarian School at Lewis Ginter for those wanting to become CRs or wanting to recertify (contact Diana Klassy at diana_n_roses@netzero.com)

  9 – 3:30         Show open to public at Lewis Ginter
